District Metals (DMX.V) has confirmed its Tomtebo drill program has started right before easter. As mentioned before, District will be relatively busy in Sweden as it has outlined a 3,000 meter, 13 hole drill program on both the Tomtebo and the Gruvberget properties.

The Sweden exploration program has been kicked off by the 1,200 meter core drill program at Tomtebo where the company plans to complete three holes, aiming to get a better understanding of the high-grade mineralization encountered in last year’s drill program.

Two of the holes will be drilled below the high-grade interval disclosed earlier this year where District encountered 30 meters containing almost 11% zinc-equivalent as District wants to drill-test this mineralization at depth to see if the high grade area shows further continuity.

A third hole at Tomtebo will be drilled almost 700 meters to the northeast from the historic Tomtebo mine. This hole is designed to drill-test a magnetic high anomaly along the known Tomtebo VMS horizon, because this anomaly appears to have a signature similar to the Steffenburgs zone where the very high-grade mineralization was encountered.

Once the Tomtebo drill program will be completed, the rig will move to the Gruvberget property, located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Tomtebo. At Gruvberget, a recent SkyTEM survey has identified 13 conductive targets. District provided a nice summary of some of the highlights and it’s perhaps just easier to refer to how they described the targets.

The SkyTEM survey seems to have had a double effect: new targets were generated while the survey also confirmed some of the targets District had already defined before.
