Further activity from the top of Argentina today as Hole 6 of a 10-hole drilling campaign at Solaroz gets underway.

Lithium Energy’s highly prospective Solaroz project in the Salar de Olaroz basin is encountering massive intersections of brine, with holes 1-5 showing up to 473.5m thick and down to 787.5m deep areas of lithium concentrations of up to 555 milligrams per litre.

Drilling at Hole 6 (SOZDD006) is targeting conductive brines down to depths of  600m below surface.

The hole is located across the Chico VI concession along a ~15km zone between Hole 1 and Hole 3, with the start of drilling making it three drill rigs operational at Solaroz.

Lithium Energy (ASX:LEL) said it was looking to quickly move the remaining two drill rigs to Hole 7 and Hole 8 after receiving pending brine sampling results and completing geophysical logging at Holes 4 and 5.

The addition of the third active drill rig means LEL can more rapidly advance to definition a maiden JORC resource estimate at the project.

Solaroz is located just north of Allkem’s flagship 19.2 million tonne Olaroz brine project which is already in production.
