On-ground exploration has begun at Recharge’s Express lithium project, 12km southeast of Allkem’s James Bay development and 15km northwest of Cygnus Metals’ Pontax lithium deposit.

In the June quarter Recharge Metals (ASX:REC) finalised a deal to acquire the Express project, comprising 139 mineral claims over two contiguous blocks in the prolific James Bay region.

Express lies between Brunswick Exploration’s (TSX-V: BRW) Anatacau West and Anatacau Main Projects where recent drill results like 26.5km at 1.51% Li2O provide evidence of the fertility of the immediate area.

REC’s exploration team now has boots on the ground ready to ‘ground truth’ four high priority targets with widespread outcrop for lithium mineralisation in the coming days.

Previous exploration work

Targeting was previously completed by Dahrouge Geological Consulting, a highly experienced geological consulting firm with many years of experience exploring the James Bay region.

Dahrouge Geological are a related party of DG Resource Management, the vendor of the Express Lithium Project, who previously identified, acquired, and vended the Corvette property to Patriot Battery Metals (TSX-V: PMET, ASX: PMT).

Targeting was primarily based on interpretation of high-resolution aerial and satellite imagery, which revealed significant areas of outcrop within the project area.

These outcrops contain a substantial number of targets and are interpreted as potentially representing outcropping lithium-bearing pegmatites.

‘Exciting testament to exploration team’

Dahrouge Geological Consulting, REC’s in-country exploration team, has now kicked off helicopter supported exploration across the four targets.

This exploration program comes hot on the heels of the explorer’s campaign at the Wapistan project where multiple crews mobilised on site last week, completing traversal works across targets 1-3 at Wapistan East.

“Getting on the ground at the Express lithium project immediately after commencing work at the Wapistan lithium project is not only very exciting but testament to our dedication to rapidly progressing the projects,” REC managing director Felicity Repacholi says.

“I will be onsite with the Dahrouge team in the coming days and look forward to walking the ground with them and providing updates to shareholders.”
