According to GlobalData, Kazakhstan is the world’s thirteenth-largest producer of gold, with output of 2,683koz in 2022, up by 2% on 2021. Over the five years to 2021, production from Kazakhstan increased by a CAGR of 6% and is expected to drop by a CAGR of 0.23% between 2022 and 2026. Kazakhstan accounts for 2% of global production, with the other largest producers being China (11%), Australia (10%), Russia (8%) and Canada (7%).
Leading producers of gold in Kazakhstan are Glencore, Polymetal International and KAZ Minerals. Glencore’s output was 646.43koz in 2021, down by 7% on 2020. Polymetal International produced 456.92koz, an increase of 1%, and output from KAZ Minerals was 139.52koz, a decrease of 15% on the previous year.
