New Found Gold Hits 22.50 Metres Of 10 g/t Gold At Keats West

New Found Gold’s (TSXV: NFG) recently discovered Keats West zone has seen its footprint expanded after further drill testing. The expansion follows the completion of eleven additional drill holes at the zone.

Highlights from the drill results include:

• NFGC-22-865: 61.76 g/t gold over 3.55 metres
• NFGC-22-922: 3.26 g/t gold over 16.60 metres, and 4.32 g/t gold over 21.30 metres
• NFGC-22-945: 10.05 g/t gold over 22.50 metres
• NFGC-22-989: 2.53 g/t gold over 29.40 metres

The highlight hole from the results released this morning, NFGC-22-945, is said to be a 305 metre step down dip from drilling conducted last year that initially established the zone. The results increase the footprint of the zone to 200 metres wide by 305 metres down dip, with the mineralized zone said to average a thickness of 30 metres, with regions of mineralized zone found to be up to 80 metres wide.

“This zone is providing us with ample evidence that both sides of the Appleton Fault can act as a prolific host for gold mineralization. One interesting insight from today’s drilling is the late faulting that occurred down dip on Keats West, effectively uplifting the mineralized zone towards surface. This corroborates our interpretation of the newly discovered Iceberg zone as the fault offset of Keats Main, an understanding that will allow us to better identify and test for additional zones of gold mineralization,” commented Melissa Render, VP of Exploration.

Drilling is said to be ongoing at the target, with both step-out and infill drilling planned for the zone.
