Drilling at Indiana Resources’ exciting Minos gold prospect continues to bear fruit, with the latest assays pointing to more shallow and continuous gold mineralisation.
The Gawler Craton prospect now boasts known gold mineralisation for Indiana (ASX:IDA) over a long strike length of 600m.
There’s no way that’s all there is either, with the golden veins remaining open along strike in both directions and beneath drilling to date.
Further drilling is planned to target extensions at Minos to the northwest, southeast and at depth.
Let’s drink in some of the highlights from the last five holes of a 14-hole, 1868m program completed at Minos in April.
- 4m at 5.31g/t Au from 106m
- 14m at 0.90g/t Au from 55m
- 8m at 1.38g/t Au from 88m; and,
- 7m at 1.47g/t Au from 72m.
These reinforce the results from the initial nine holes reported in June.
- 14m @ 2.56g/t Au from 44m
- 24m @ 1.41g/t Au from 37m, including 1m @ 16.00g/t Au
- 16m @ 1.91g/t Au from 73m, including 1m @ 12.10g/t Au
- 11m @ 1.77g/t Au from 39m
- 9m @ 1.97g/t Au from 88m
Results like those continue to fill in the gaps at Minos, where drilling is getting tighter to prepare for a maiden mineral resource estimate.
System of significance
Indiana’s technical director Felicity Repacholi-Muir said recent results continue to increase the company’s confidence in the grade continuity of the Minos mineralisation.
“We are very pleased with the final assays from our April drilling programme which has outlined a 600-metre strike extent of shallow, near-surface gold mineralisation. Importantly, recent results at Minos increase our confidence in the grade continuity and clearly demonstrate the strong potential for the area to host a mineralised system of significance,” she said.
Meanwhile, Indiana has received approval from the South Australian Government for an Exploration Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation, basically an approval of exploration activity, over an expanded area.

It means the gold explorer will be able to drill to test the strike extent of Minos and other targets within the fertile Lake Labyrinth Shear Zone.
“The approval of the E-PEPR over an expanded area allows us to continue our exploration efforts at Minos and to broaden our programme to include other important LLSZ targets including the Ariadne, and Company Well Prospects,” Repacholi-Muir said.
“We would like to thank the DEM for their assistance in finalising the EPEPR and we look forward to progressing approvals over the remainder of our extensive landholding
in the Gawler Craton.”
Upcoming drilling at Minos will target thicker and high-grade intersections in the northwestern portion of the Minos orebody as well as depth extensions.
Some of the stellar results from previous drilling at Minos have included 38m at 6.54g/t from 29m in hole LLRCS029 (including 16m at 13.2g/t from 37m) and 21m at 8.43g/t from 176m in hole LLRC041 (including 1m at 159g/t from 185m).
